Spectacular handcrafted bowl. Sally Burnett carves her vessels out of one peice of wood, then adds textured surfaces with palladium, gunmetal, and 23.5 carat gold leaf.
This bowl is part of an exquisite collection of lathe turned and carved wooden forms. Inspired by the rugged beauty of the landscape, textures created by constant exposure to extremes of wind and rain, these sculptural forms epitomise the timeless elegance of quality and luxury.
Sally explores the natural properties of wood using a woodworking lathe and traditional chisels and gouges alongside modern techniques and tools. All of the timber that she uses comes from English native trees, felled locally where possible, mainly due to storm damage or necessary land clearance.
To clean, dust with a dry cloth. The vessel is intended for decorative purposes only. 7 inches high, 7 inches wide, weighs 1 pound.
